About the work
The series alpine water flow focuses on alpine water above and below ground. The artist spent many years in the Dolomites, whose landscapes hold enormous underground water resources that surface as rivers and streams. Read from left to right, the series is a critical projection: a lush, water-rich landscape turns into a barren, water-poor one.
The work combines text-to-image generation (DALL-E 3) with the analogue cyanotype process. Presented in lightboxes, the prints take on the visual language of analogue photography, which makes these unreal landscapes appear all the more real.
